Rovinj is a city in Croatia situated on the north Adriatic Sea. It is located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula and is a popular tourist resort and an active fishing port. Istriot, a Romance language once widely spoken in this part of Istria, is still spoken by part of the residents. Rovinj is approximatley 40km from Pula and Pula Airport serves Rovinj. Flights come into Pula Airport from many European cities including, London-Gatwick, Oslo and Amsterdam. Once you have arrived at the airport the easiest option is to rent a car and drive to Rovinj, the journey is very easy and will take you less than an hour. The Rovinj coastal area is very well articulated with numerous bays, creeks, and capes. There are places of great natural and ecological value for example St. Andrea's archipelago and Monfiorenzo cave. Rovinj is the home of many world regattas and international tennis tournaments attracting professional sportsmen and amateurs. In tourist resorts, in hotels and on camping sites you will find all kinds of recreational facilities. On the sea there is a water-skiing school and on the land there is a tennis school, tennis courts, volley-ball, basketball, a riding school, bowling, boules, soccer, darts, a gymnasium, a massage parlour and a sauna. So there is plenty to keep both adults and children entertained.
